Okay, so I'm a junior (but I am graduating this year)....and I'm really nervous about applying.

Stats:

GPA: 3.4 UW 4.25 W...but again, this is only two years worth of work. :/ And my freshman year killed my GPA. My grades rise each year though.
ACT: 26 (retook, pretty sure I scored a 30+)
SAT II Bio M: 670
Class Rank: Top 20%....like in the 15%-18% tile.
EC's: Teen CERT, National Spanish Honors Society, HOSA, Volunteer, National Science Honors Society, Christian Club...Lifeguard for two years...have a lot of certifications:

CPR/AED for Pro Rescuer ARC
CPR/AED for Healthcare Provider AHA
Lifeguarding ARC
Oxygen Administration ARC
First Aid ARC
Intructor Essentials AHA
Teen Community Emergency Response Team Cert.
Swim Instructor Cert.

I also got first place in my area for the HOSA CPR/First Aid competition. I also want to include that my rank and GPA are low, but I do go to a very competitive magnet school. I am in a pre-med program also...EMT pathway...I have about 100 internship hours if that matters.

Hooks:
African American Male, Diagnosed with GSD V (not anything major...just a very rare disease...can never swim a marathon).

Ummm...what else?

I live in Texas...georgraphical diversity? The reason I am applying to Emory rather than Rice.....

People to People Student Ambassadors Alumni

Tutored freshman year

Also don't forget.. Early graduate. :P Not that much time to raise GPA...I know for this semester I did really really well..

Also, I am in dual-enrollement with a community college..So far I have these classes...

Psychology: A
US History: A
Government: A
English 1301: A

So, hopefully that shows them that I am better with college level work rather than high school level work? :/ My counselor also wrote a recommendation (I think) about how I changed over the years in high school...like how my procrastination has led me to become a better student and not make those same mistakes.

So what do you think?
