3.6gpa weighted gpa
1200sat (cr+M)
I have a uscf chess rating of 1925 (2nd in Florida)
Will I get in to FSU?

i think you have a good chance. are you a senior or junior in hs? if a junior, you may want to take sat again to try and raise the scores.

if you are a hs senior and missed the first application deadline, it will be a bit more difficult as the second application pool gets much more competitive.

In either event, your academic profile is most impressive and you should be proud of your accomplishments. I would make sure that you apply to other schools as well, so you have a selection.

Good Luck.

The two most important factors for admission to FSU are GPA and course rigor. The SAT is somewhat less important than these two.

You are on the low side of the average. I'd suggest you retake the SAT after preparation and keep trying to get your unweighted GPA up. Take as many challenging courses as you can, especially AP courses.

Good luck!

As a senior, your best shot was applying for the first deadline, but it is possible. On another post you mentioned a writing score of 490. FSU has a minimum to be considered on all portions of the SAT at 500 so maybe you will take it again soon? Right now a senior with your stat's needs a hook. So maybe your chess passion and experience is one. You can always try for a CC transfer if your dream is FSU. Did you take AP/IB/DE classes?

If I don't get in to FSU, is it possible for me to apply again 1 year after highschool?
I will have a 3.8 weighted gpa and probably retake the sat and score higher.

Also, I took like 6 ap classes.
Ap Gov, Ap Calc, Ap Econ, AP American, AP World History and AP environmental science.
(I took AP Gov, 11th grade and AP Econ 12th grade on FLVS)

Also I took Ap Psychology

Your chances improve with the 6 AP classes. Have you applied?

Looking better. If you are waiting on a decision, update them with any midterm grade reports etc esp if you are having a good year. It is tough to transfer without an AA. DId you retake the SAT? That is probably your biggest hold up as they now count the writing portion.

I will/may retake the sat in March. I applied some time in december.

It looks like i'll just have to wait until march 15th for the decision
