Almost no one on this board will be able to help you, simply because we don't know enough about your system of education and scoring. In general, you look impressive, but international applicants have a tougher time. You're essentially competing against the rest of the world for a few international slots. As to SATs, higher is better of course. We see perfect SATs rejected periodically and lower ones accepted, so there is no hard and fast rule. If you are around 750 on all sections including SAT IIs, you'll have a good shot.

hey thanks bandit and alien workshop! see, my education system is the british education system which is equivalent or higher than advanced placement.its is almost equivalent to the college level courses or even IB.i hope that helps u to gauge how my eduation system is rated.
so you think working my a** off on the SATS would do the trick???
also do you think ill be able to go for haravrd EA/ED if i give my SAT 1 in oct and SAT2 in november??will i get my scores in time?
also can u ppl tell me wats an excellent score in TOEFL for the top ivies?
thanks hope to c more replies!

please give me an honest appraisal as to my chances in harvrd. i know this mite sound a bit trite but i really dont know wat kinda competition im facing or up against being an international applicant,so it would be brilliant if you could give me your experienced view being senior members.only then i would properly know where i stand in the admissions process EA and RD. please feel free to tell me what i should and could improve to boost my shots-even if its criticism here and there!i would take it constructively!
thanking you in anticipation,
icy

The competition is tremendous. It's you against the rest of the world for a few international spots. Oct and Nov SATs will be fine for EA. Do not count on getting into Harvard! No one is guaranteed a spot no matter what your scores are. Always, always have some match and safety schools where you can be HAPPY.

icy, there are no quotas for international students at Harvard so don't worry about there being 'few international spots.' Your area person in the Admissions Office will be familiar with your educational system. If you read the info from Harvard, you'll see under the 'For Early Action Applicants' it says"Tests taken in November or earlier will be considered for Early Action." (p. 41 of the prospectus, also on website.)

I agree with samuck. In fact, you might have an advantage over other applicants because you bring an element of diversity to the college.
Take the SATs- they are extremely important for international applicants because they allow the university to rate you against American applicants.
What scores are you getting on your practice tests? I heard that the TOEFL is somewhat easy to ace (I am of Indian descent myself) so I would aim for a perfect score.
What do you plan to major in at Harvard? And what do you plan to write your essays on? I don't really see any overall passion or direction in your resume, so that might be something you should work on.

Being that Harvard is strictly monotheistic, and the relatively violent atmosphere at Harvard (especially racism and intolerance of other religious convictions), I'd say your chances are good, but that you should stay very wary of the whities. I'm a Pakistani graduate of Harvard Med ('98), and I can write a book about horror stories, especially about discrimination from teachers.

So if you want to go to Harvard, be VERY VERY sure that it's your first choice. And bring a shotgun. You'll need it.

"Being that Harvard is strictly monotheistic, and the relatively violent atmosphere at Harvard (especially racism and intolerance of other religious convictions)"

Can you please elaborate? I am Muslim too btw.

Bitter? Who's bitter?
I'm a Harvard Grad, I tells ya. I went to Harvard Med, and I'm the smartest person in the universe, so you should all listen to what I have to say.

The atmosphere at Harvard is quite exceedingly Baptist, and if people find out you're anything but that, they'll shun you if you're tall and muscley-like (like me), or they'll harass you constantly (like they did to my Hindu friend).

Dude you are scaring me! I am Assemblies of God (pentacostal) and I am Puerto Rican. I am also tall but not "full of muscles" (will work on that this summer :) ) . Will they try to kill me or at least be all snobbish? Yikes! :(

^I smell a troll. Don't worry about anything he says, guys... Harvard is extremely diverse and everyone there is very accepting! They'd have to be, or else they'd be shunning half of the student body...

thanks for ur opinion! if all of u say that no matter how brilliant ones stats are, they dont get in......then out of harvard ,yale and princeton is relatively or slightly easier to predict and get in?i mean i dont want to waste my EA on harvard if i could get a better deal from yale....lol for example.which one do you think out of the three that i shud apply EA/ED to?
see, regds essay, i was thinkin on writing on my personal experience i had as president of interact club in organising a major festival/extravaganza which involved fundraising et al.in my practice teste im gettin in my 1450s en all....lol im working on it!!!
but could you guys tell me which college is slghtly less competitive out of the three ? and which one would have higher returns if i did EA/Ed?

oh and fdgd774, wat r ur plans for college?or r u a lready in college?wat r ur intended majors...mine would be pol.science or intl relations.and how do you think i could work or improve on the direction and aspect u said in my resume?
