I visited the UW campus this summer and I fell in love...it is my top choice. My stats aren't so great however, but I do have unusual circumstances...

ACT: 31 composite
GPA: 2.6
Out of state (Minn)
1 AP sophomore year, 1 IB junior year, 1 IB and 2 AP's senior year

I missed 4 months of school my sophomore year due to health problems and this is why my GPA is so low. My freshman year GPA before I got sick was 3.6, do you think they would look at this?
Thank you so much

Mmm, GPA is extremely low (I understand that you were sick)…
You would have to write a stellar essay explaining your situation and telling UW why/how you plan on succeeding at UW.
Note, the average 1st year GPA is 3.6-3.8 and only continues to climb as the years go by.
I think your downward trend is going to hurt you the most, hopefully it’s been going up in recent years.
If you don’t make it in, that is NOT THE END! You could always transfer, although it is much more difficult to transfer from an OOS CC you still have a chance. Good luck.

UWchancemeh -My GPA has been going up; it has risen each semester since 2nd semester soph year. Thank you for your help!

@ilovefrefre That’s awesome. UW loves those upwards trends! Good luck :)!
