will i get in?

I have a 24 ACT and a 1720 SAT. My FSU Gpa is a 3.7 and i applied for summer term. I also have over 1000 hours of community service and have always been in all honors and AP classes. can i get in for summer term?

someone please chance me!

Wondering if you applied by the October deadline? Also, did you do the essay and resume?

yes i did apply by the october deadline and i wrote a great essay and had a great resume due to the fact that I’ve been a part of more than 10 clubs and 2 varsity sports, as well as 3 honor societies @meow0628‌

Thanks for letting me know.@GoNoles271106
That’s good that you have a great essay, since sometimes essays can really make or break an application.

I’m an applicant myself, so I do know somewhat about FSU’s admissions from researching but not a lot but here is what I have:

I think you have a decent shot at FSU for summer. As FSU has holistic admissions and not a straight-up GPA/scores one, there’s no certain yes/no answer for admission. Although your class rigor and community service sound stellar, as well as your ECs. Your ACT score is a bit low, but your supplemental information may make up for that. Your gpa is in the middle range of a 3.6-4.1 for Summer so you should be fine on that.

May I ask why you decided to apply for summer instead of fall?

Thank you for the quick response! I read the counselor’s guide for this year and the summer average was a 3.6 FSU Gpa and a 24 ACT, so i think i have a decent chance. I decided to apply for summer because i wanted to start early and get to know the campus before the thousands of students get there in the fall. Ive had family members that have done the same and they’ve all said it was definitely worth it. I also majored in Bio-chemical engineering, don’t know if that makes a difference in the admissions decision but just thought i should share. @meow0628‌

I had a rep from FSU come to my school and he told us that the major we listed on our applications would not matter as long as they weren’t the audition-required majors (I think there’s four, and one is Musical Theatre and majors within the Arts).

I can tell from your posts that you’re quite nervous on this app. I am as well, been trying to calm myself down these past few weeks to prepare for the worst, haha. I applied for Fall, but I’m sure about a 1/3 of my class is applying to FSU. I’m guessing you’re in-state as well?

Wait, @GoNoles271106 are you applying for biochemical engineering? Or do you mean chemical engineering? I don’t see biochemical engineering (there is biochemistry or other types of engineering) listed as a major. http://www.academic-guide.fsu.edu/

yes i am in-state, and yes I’ve been stressing since the day i sent the app in! This is my number one choice so i don’t know how i would react if i were to be rejected  @meow0628‌ do you mind sharing your gpa and scores?

yes my bad its pre-chemical engineering/ biochemistry @meow0628‌

I’ve been stressing as well. I come from a family of Gators from the Gator Nation, and sent an app to UF a few weeks ago, but didn’t care much for it since my stats are nothing compared to what UF lists on their website. I’ve cared more about FSU these past few months than I ever have for bleeding orange and blue since forever.

I’ll list a few of my stats:
FSU GPA: 3.9
ACT: 27
Lots of related clubs/ECs, 100+ hours community service, unique essay and good resume.

@GoNoles271106, have you thought of applying to USF? I think you’ll get in for Summer.

@meow0628‌ i was already accepted to USF, UCF, FIU, FGCU…and i think you will be accepted for sure!

@GoNoles271106, that’s terrific that you’ve been accepted to so many state schools already! No matter if you get in or not into FSU, you’ll still have somewhere wonderful to go to. ;)

We have the same FSU Gpa but my ACT is a 27. I also applied for summer like you did. I believe have 1k + community service hours is interesting but after a certain point having so many isn’t really that useful because it is very easy to fake community service. Also do you have any sports you played or clubs?
