Will I get in?

Hi ! So I have a 3.5 GPA and an ACT of 28, possibly going to retake to get a higher score though. SAT no good, may not even include my score if that’s an option? Not sure.

Also I have an upward trend in my grades so 9th-10th my gpa was a 3.2 but 11th-12th my gpa was raised.

What do you guys think? Still have time, the first semester isn’t even over

I don’t know, you’ll just have to apply and see.

Smith is test optional for domestic students so you could choose to not send those in. You seem to have a good situation with everything so far. Definitely work on raising your GPA even higher to get the best you possibly can and work on a good essay. I think you have a chance at Smith but then again, I don’t work for admissions or anything so I can’t say anything for sure. Good luck!

I’d highly suggest an interview! It gives you the option to articulate how much you want to go to Smith. Smith has alumna conduct interviews from all over the country, so if you’re far away that isn’t a problem! I’d also like to note that Smith isn’t the kind of school that admits people solely on GPA, test scores, and class rank. Those matter, but having a 4.0 isn’t an obvious-admission. I know people who were number 2, 3 in their class and got rejected, and I’ve known people who weren’t even in the top 10 who have been admitted. A lot of this is due to extracurriculars, which Smith likes to be diverse, nontraditional, and leadership-oriented in nature, and yours seem qualified! I am going to echo the previous comments and conclude that acceptance is unpredictable and all you can really do is wait and see, but you do have a reasonable chance. Good luck!

Your ACT is within range, according to their most recent Common Data Set.

(middle 50%)
ACT Composite 28 - 31
(25% scored higher than 31; 25% scored below 28)

Your GPA is on the low end of their second tier.

Percent who had GPA of 3.75 and higher - 63.49%
Percent who had GPA between 3.50 and 3.74 - 23.31%

I would try and get your GPA up as much as possible, write a great essay, and put your heart and soul into every aspect of your application.

Good luck.
