So I applied to several UC’s and CSU’s…but I don’t think I’ll get in the UC’s because both my SAT score and my ACT score were average. I am however, in the top 10 of my class and I have a high GPA, plus I participated in extracurricular activities and volunteering throughout my high school career, yet not sure if that would help my case or not. I would like to know some of people’s opinions on my chances.
What is your UC/CSU GPA and test scores? Where did you apply?
I applied to UC Irivine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, and UC Santa Cruz. I got a 1550 on the SAT and on the ACT think I got a 23. My GPA is about a 4.3. I also am taking AP classes and have passed all of the AP test. Oh! I also applied to CSU Pomona and CSU Long Beach.
Intended major?
Computer Science/or Game Design.
UCSC: High Match
UCI: Low Reach
UCD/UCSB: Reach
CPP/CSULB: Match
Your GPA is great but SAT score is about 300-500 points below the average for the most of the UC’s on your list. Since CSU/UC applications are in, I assume you did not consider UCR? I also would have added SDSU and SJSU as good options.
Oh I didn’t really consider those schools, ah well I guess. I’m pretty new to this site and all, so does reach mean low chance?
Oh wait nevermind, just looked up what they meant. Ah well, guess ill be going to community…Thank you for answering!
Chancing Hierarchy: Safety>Low Match> Match> High Match> Low Reach > Reach > High Reach
lol I am very downtrodden by this but I guess ill just go to community and transfer…Thank you again for the information!
With that GPA, I doubt you’ll end up at community college.
Haha thanks! Wait do you mean in a good or bad way?
Apply to the schools on your list and wait for a decision.
That is baically what I am doing ^^ However I just wanted to know my chances and Gumbymom answered that wonderfully.
