I am a senior that applied EA and is still waiting to hear back and I am really nervous.
GPA: 3.73
ACT: 24
I applied to CSOM. I played both varsity tennis and golf. Lettering in both of those. Two academic letters. Captain of the debate team, doing debate for all 4 years and I have 3 letters with that. I also co-lead the parkour club. I have around 80+ hours volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club on the East Side. And about 50 or so hours volunteering at a pharmacy. My dad went there for grad school, and my family has a history there.
My courses have been fairly rigours. I took AP Psych and AP Language And Composition last year. And this year I am taking CIS (college in schools) Modern Lit, CIS Sociology through a family lense. And AP Micro
My son is in a similar situation. 4.0 GPA with a 24 ACT. The ACT score is pretty low for CSOM, but he figured he would try. He applied second choice to CEHD. He hasn’t heard anything yet. He applied early October. If he doesn’t get in he has a couple of other schools who have given him really nice scholarships. It’s interesting how many schools, including the University of Chicago, are now making the ACT/SAT optional.
