<p>Ok so I’m going to list some stats and personal information and if you guys could give me an outside perspective on if this seems realistic I would really appreciate it!</p>

SATs: Writing: 730; Math: 700; Critical Reading: 660
SAT IIs: Math 2: 720; Literature; 680
GPA: Fresh and sophomore year went to public school, ~ 3.3 unweighted
Junior Year at private school ~3.8
Senior Year at private school ~ 4.3 (weighted)
Caucasian
Activities: Varsity Volleyball and softball all four years
Church youth group for two years
Electronic Arts internship in San Francisco, worked on a Sims game and the game “Rock Band”
Travel softball since I was 9, got fifth in the nation one year and fifteenth another</p>
<p>Dad: Ivy undergrad, top-ranked U for grad
Mom: some college, didn’t finish though</p>
<p>I have somewhat of an excuse for earlier not so hot grades…
When I was younger, I skipped a grade because was ahead of class. I actually did half a junior year at my public school, but halfway through I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and had to have open brain surgery and was taken out of school for the rest of the year. Thankfully, I was a year younger than everyone, so transferring to a different school and redoing my junior year did not present any age related problems. Essay talks about this.</p>
<p>I wrote in some of my essays that the reason I don’t have tons of extracurriculars is because I had constant health issues pre and post-diagnosis, and also sports dominated the majority of my time.</p>
<p>I can’t think of any other information that might help you guys assess me, but please feel free to ask.</p>
<p>Bucknell is a great place. Going here has been the best decision I could have ever made. I live just outside of New Haven, too, and I always dreamed of going to Yale. I had top grades, top SATs, great ECs, football captain, lacrosse captain, graduated 6th in my class. Junior year I was diagnosed with cancer--but I prevailed anyway--and worked hard senior year to not let my diagnosis determine who I would become. I was about to be a football recruit at Yale and Dartmouth-my diagnosis killed that dream-I was wait listed at both--accepted to Bucknell. Bucknell is a great size (3,500) and people most importantly-- are friendly. Great facilities, plenty of activities, challenging courses, great internship program, and a beautiful campus. This is the place to be---if you like friendly kids You'll get a great liberal arts education with the benefit of a going to a great university with unbelievable facilities. I think you're being realistic & I'm not in admissions--but I think you have a great profile for becoming a Bucknellian. Best of luck--I think you'd love Bucknell & I hope you get an acceptance letter that will make you happy. If you come here, you're gonna fall in love with the place pretty fast--you won't regret it--you'll just have to get used to the pizza not being like Modern, Pepe's or Sally's--but you'll survive! <p>I just want to say good luck. My son is a first year at Bucknell and loves it loves it loves it! I can tell you that his grades/SAT were lower than yours but his EC was packed with stuff--politics, jobs, debate, Sunday school teacher--and he applied ED. He says most of his friends also got in ED. Hope you had an interview. I am told they keep track of how many times you contact the admissions dept...the more the better. They want to know that you really want to go there and not someplace else.</p>
<p>Thank you! I did not have an interview, just visited and toured. I've emailed an intern in the admissions office back and forth a couple times.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, ECs for me were not an option due to health and sports. I hope to pursue those that interest me in college.</p>
<p>I'm a little discouraged about Bucknell. Probably one of the most sociable, popular, and involved girls from my high school graduated last year, and went to Bucknell (a long time dream of hers). Unfortunately, she really really dislikes it and is transferring next year. I am so confused by this because she doesn't like the people or the social life, when at our high school, she was the center of it! I hope I can talk to her about this more once decisions come and I have to decide.</p>
<p>Nope, RD. Fortunately, it was my 5th choice and probably showed in my essay and not showing up at the counselor's presentation at my high school.</p>
<p>RD? I thought Bucknell was not sending until late march/ early april... why has no one else received a letter? Should I be looking for mine? Where do you live?</p>
<p>Maybe they sent out letters to those further away.. maybe they figured that way we would receive them all at the same time?? This is driving me crazy since I won't be getting home until 7pm</p>
