you are definitely a strong candidate.

there are many factors that go into the application process and noone on here can say for certain if you are a sure thing. Are you OOS or in-state?

I'm In-State

What are your SAT II scores?

English 780, US History 740, World History 600, Math level 1 720, Math level 2 740, Bio 710, Chem 750, Physics 760

assuming your essays are good - I'd say you have a great shot. The GPA worried me at first, but UVA's app process is holistic - so theyll take everything into account. good luck!

GPA is too low, depending on where you are applying from. If from NOVA, definitely low.

Elle:
Is the GPA you listed above Weighted or Unweighted? Also, what is your approximate Class Rank, expressed as XX out of XXX? Thanks.

Unweighted, and I am not sure, but probably in the top 75%.

I meant in the top 25% Sorry

Your test scores are strong, but your GPA is a bit low. Do you have anything outstanding in your extracurriculars? Also, what kind of recommendations are you expecting?

I love UVA too, such a beautiful school and really cool programs. I'm from out of state, which pretty much puts me at a huge disadvantage buuut chancs?

In terms of "standing out", I've definitely spent a lot of time in high school studying global human rights...i'm doing an independent study on it, ive done conferences about it, and i have a huge volunteer job with a biiig national anti-genocide coalition. By no means is it the only thing that I have done in high school, but its something im really passionate about, and I hope to emphasize that in my app. I know my teacher and counselor recs will talk about that a lot

**My GPA is lower than one would expect of a student applying to top-tier schools, but that is because my school is incredibly difficult and has absolutely no grade inflation. The GPAs of accepted students from my school are always lower than the average accepted GPA of the colleges because colleges know how rigorous my school is.

Stat profile...sorry its long, its the one that college confidential provides!
