Will I get in?!?

Hi Everyone,

I am a senior at a pretty good high school in CA. My overall weighted GPA up to now is 3.9. I received a 4.2 Junior year. I have taken 6 AP class until now (and passed all of them) and will have taken 11 AP classes by the end of senior year. I am top 10% of my class. My highest score on the SATs was 2080 (710 in math, 690 in reading, and 680 in writing). My score on the ACT was a 32. I have taken the SAT IIs in Biology M (740), Chemistry (580), Lit (640), and Math level 2 (690)- but as you can see, did very poorly. I have a good number of extra curriculars.

They are:

I was part of the Track team through middle school and in 10th grade. I was founder of UNICEF club at our school I am a member of Badminton Club, CSF, Amnesty International Member/ STAND club, Science Olympiad, interact, Environmental Club, Mission Outreach, Math Club, GETSET, and National Merit Honors Society. I was on the leadership board for UNICEF club (co-founder), Interact (treasurer, Co-President, District Council), and Environmental Club (on leadership board). I have placed 1st place in the Tri-Valley Science Fair within my category and our project (the effects of Cinnamon on Blood Glucose Levels) received 3 extra special awards. I volunteered at an Eye Hospital for a couple of months during my Freshman year (but it was only a couple of hours total). However, I do have over 150+ hours in community service. I was also a winner of the J8 competition and was able to represent the USA at the summit. There I got to meet with President Bush and the rest of the G8 leaders and their spouses at the G8 summit. In my free time, I play tennis (I have a USTA membership). I also tutored for about 6 months at a local math and reading learning center.

I am trying to get into colleges such as UCLA and UCSD- hopefully with honors programs. I want to major in Bio because I want to go into Med. Does anyone know what my chances are?

I am also trying to get into some combined BA/MD programs. Some of the colleges I have in mind with these combined med programs are Northeastern, Penn State, Washington U, and ect.. Does anyone know what my chances are of getting into these programs? Does anyone know of any programs that I have a good chance of getting into with my stats?

Does anyone know what my probability of getting into top notch schools such as Stanford and U Penn?

Thanks in advance for your help!!! :)

I think you’ve got a pretty good chance at UCLA and UCSD - your GPA is right at it’s avg stats, and you have pretty good SAT scores… really! Your EC’s are also pretty diverse, but I didn’t see that many leadership positions, but you have enough EC’s to make up for it.

UCSD - Match
UCLA - Match, Low reach

UCLA is really random, though

Chance me back!

You need to figure out your UC GPA. Then compare to these averages:
