Will i get in? :/

I got a 21 on my ACT and 1010 on my SAT out of 1600. My gpa is a 3.11 and I have a bunch of ECs. Im applying as an instate student, but my high school that I attend is one of the top in the nation. I suck at testing and neither of my scores show my ability. I dont know what to do. Do you think my shot at UCF is too low?

Hi Floridagirl, I would really hate to be the bearer of bad news but your GPA is way too low and so is your ACT.

Here is the UCF profile taken from their website:

How competitive is UCF?
For freshmen, the mid-range (middle 50%) of our Fall 2009 entering class was:
GPA : 3.5 – 4.1
(recalculated academic core)
SAT : 1170 – 1300
(critical reading and math)
ACT : 25 – 28
(composite)

If you are not a senior, try to increase your GPA as much as possible and take the ACT or SAT as well. If you are a senior, take the ACT or SAT one more time. EC’s are important so it’s good that you have that covered but without a higher GPA or Test score it’s not good enough. If money is not a problem then apply, there’s a great chance you’ll be rejected but at least you tried. If money is a problem and you don’t want to waste the 30 dollar admission fee then I’d highly suggest going to Valencia Community College.
You’ll be about 10 minutes from UCF, you’ll definitely meet people from UCF, and if you get an AA from Valencia you will be accepted to UCF. (UCF has a program with Valencia) Know that if you take this path YOU WILL end up in UCF as long as you get your AA.

Good luck!
