I’m not entirely sure about the standards for transfers, but I’d imagine they’re pretty close to the standards the university has in general for all of its admits, so here’s just my personal opinion

Villanova - Match
NYU - High Match
Georgetown - Match
Cornell - Low Reach
Brown - Low Reach
Columbia (have a legacy here) - High Match (because of legacy), Low Reach in general
Harvard - Reach (obviously, it’s a reach for everyone)
Yale - Reach (ditto… it’s always a reach for every applicant ever)

Your best chance at indexing up is Penn. If I recall there is a slight advantage for Penn residents and they do accept a sizeable cohort of transfers. The only other Ivy that you would have a decent chance to transfer into is Cornell.

@nervedoctor awesome because thats by far my #1 choice I love it there. Also I forgot to mention this but my boss at the investment bank I interned at is a Wharton MBA grad and he said he would write a rec for me. Even though im applying to CAS econ will a wharton grad rec help me at all? Thanks a lot for your input I appreciate it.

It looks like you’re a great candidate. Your work experience is very impressive for someone barely or almost 20 years old, and you’re already doing very well grade-wise. Your recommendations I’m sure are excellent, but it is important to keep in mind, as I have also been advised, that admissions offices are not always as willing to try as hard with transfer students. You want to be careful not to flood them with too many letters. Harvard and Yale are (understandably) reaches, as they are for everyone. I think you look excellent on paper. Even though you have a lot of schools on there, interviews can never hurt.

You have a solid chance at every school. You’ll definitely get into Cornell. Probably Brown Penn and Colombia. The others I don’t have experience/it’s a toss up. But you will have good options.

I’m not entirely sure how transferring works, however I think you’ve got strong internship and “extra curriculars,” a pretty strong GPA, and you already go to the honors college of a pretty solid school. I don’t know if applying to Ivy’s on transfer are anymore difficult, however I think Georgetown, NYU, and Nova are for sure matches, and even a Cornell or Penn. The rest are probably a little more like high matches or low reaches.

Villanova and NYU are the ones that are not reaches as transfers. However, if you can play D1 baseball at an Ivy, these are your main bets for reachability.

Ivy leagues are always reaches, but you would have a good chance at Columbia because of the legacy, but every other school you would have a good chance.

I think you are in a very good position. Get to know your transfer advisor and explain the c. Really don’t think one c will fault so so much. Internships look good also. Well rounded that’s what they look for in addition to academics. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually am in the process of getting that C off my transcript which I am pretty convinced will happen. Its a long process but it will be worth it. I have compelling reasons for them to remove it and it sounds like they are going to do it(im hoping) Without it I will have a 3.85 which from what I have been reading will make me much more competitive then a 3.7. :)
