Hello. I really want to go to Brown… Number 1 choice!

GPA: 94 weighted
93 unweighted

SAT: 1850 (not the best… I know) I might retake though…

EC’s: Varsity Track (1 year)
Varsity Crew (3 years)
Classical Piano (15 years)
Theater (7 years) two shows a year for the past 4 years, all lead roles
Very involved with my church and do volunteer work through them.
Drama Club (3 years)

Work experience:
Internship at regional theater for 3 summers

Summer courses:
3 summer classes taken at Brown over the past three summers

Rec’s:
Math: good
English: Great
Extracurricular: excellent

Also applying early decision

I am of hispanic decent and I want to major in creative writing. I do not need any financial aid. Also, if you don’t think I’m qualified for Brown, where should I try? Thanks!

Your SAT is too low, you should at least get a 2000. Being of hispanic decent will help though.

Reach due to weak GPA, ECs, and SAT…for current SAT score your ethnicity may help but not enough to completely cover it.

Honestly Brown is one of gamble schools and no one can tell you anything certain about it. Also, aren’t you gonna apply to other schools anywher?

No way with that SAT. Prepare more and try again or take the ACT.

Only person who got in with 1800 SAT I know is from Questbridge program, and he was poverty stricken AA kid with extra huge loads of volunteer experience, work experience, at least 3.8 GPA and whatnot.

Im only applying to brown early decision
if I don’t get in, than obviously I will apply other places.

Try the ACT and definitely retake if you are serious about Brown. Regardless of your being Hispanic, that SAT score is too low. Applying ED doesn’t make your chances hugely better, because many of the kids applying through ED are recruited athletes.
