Please be honest! (:

Your have decent chances.

You have a decent app. But it does not have any noteworthy features to an Ivy adcom. A lot of kids do this kind of stuff and more.

Unlike the other criticisms, you need a more detailed description or picture.

To get into Cornell you will have to get that SAT score, the great part is that just working on math will be easier than reading since it’s known what to expect. If you can get it to 2250+ your chances will increase much more.

Your ECs area fairly strong for the average applicant seeking Cornell however try to get more leadership in your Senior Year; while this may sound vague, it’s essential along with good Letter of Recommendations.

Being instate works to your advantage along with your SAT II (whether Cornell requires them or not, those are high scores).

Good luck, you have a great chance!

I think Cornell is a match for you. The only negative you have is that one of your SAT scores is <700 which does sort of give them a reason to reject you if they are looking for one. You might want to consider a re-take but otherwise I’d say you’re in good shape.

@soze
Can you defend your statement as to why you think a school with such a slim acceptance rate is a “match?”

grades seem good, no leadership activities, and ur SAT is a 1410 out of 1600, cornell doesnt look at writing

Because pretty much everybody I know who went to Cornell in the past few years had stats to were no higher than the OP.

@soze
That’s anecdotal evidence.

Nevertheless, it’s still evidence. I would maintain that the OP has at least a 50/50 chance of admission based on his stats.

It’s definitely reachable but it is just that: a reach.

What are your non-reaches?

I have a close friend who got wait listed at Cornell, he only had a 1900 on his SATs but had strong ACTs (Mid 30s) a high GPA (4.4 I think), was 3 sport athlete of considerable merit, and was involved in leadership in most of his ECs. He did end up getting into brown and Berkeley, among others. Hopefully that gives you an idea of how difficult it is to get in.

I’d definitely say you have a decent chance, but I’d recommend applying early if you can. Good luck!! :)
