I sent in my app about a week ago to DePaul University, and am dying in anticipation.

Stats

Senior male from Florida, but a former resident of Illinois(if that matters to them).

GPA: 2.27: I know this is horrible, but it's mostly due to a really bad freshman year, my grades have gotten better since. This semester I have all As and Bs. I checked and my GPA would be a 2.5 if it included this semester. I also go to a very tough school, and all of my classes are honors level.

ACT: 25

ECs:

Model United Nations
Varsity Wrestling Manager
Vice President of school music club.

Volunteer work
100+ hours of service work at local crisis center.

DePaul is my absolute top choice, and I even attended their open house. I just need to know if I even stand a chance.

thanks for chancing me. . .i wish i could truthfully return the favor but i honestly don’t know enough about depaul to give you a good chance. Your GPA obviously has some issues and I’m betting your class rank does too. You have decent standardized scores and ok ec’s. I wouldn’t rule you out but you probably need pretty stellar essays and teacher recs. Best of luck to you!

sorry about that, I got you now. Congrats on getting into DePaul! How long did it take for you to hear back from them after submitting your app?

I think you’ll be okay. Don’t worry too much about the GPA number, if you’ve improved over the course of your high school career that will play in your favor.
