Ok so im getting worried i wont get into the school of my dreams (ECU)! my junior year was a really bad year for me and my GPA went down! So I’m wondering is ECU going to look at me as a whole of just test scores and GPA?my freshmen wasnt a good year for me i got a 2.5 GPA
but then i worked really hard my sophmore year and gained a 3.07 GPa (weighted), but Junior year it went down to a 2.66 (weighted GPA). . . my Sat scores is a 1320 . . . also . . . M:450 R:460 & W:410 i plan to take it a few more times because i take it more and my score goes up every time!
And also my sister goes to ECU, and she had a 2.7 GPA weighted when she applied and now she makes the Dean List every semester! But she was also seen as an instate applicant at the time! But I,m not an instate applicant Im coming from Maryland
So what is your GPA now? This year denial letters (to instate students) are saying they require a 3.2.
I got a 3.0 last quarter! But I’m not planning to apply until March
And I still plan to take the ACT
I’m going to be honest with you. If you were from NC I think you would have a fair chance of getting in. ECU is very tough on its out of state applicants. Over the last 2 years ECU has tried very hard to raise their admission standards. A lot of out of state applicants whose, GPA was under 3.2 unweighted, were turned down this year. I really hate to say this but your chance at ECU looks small. Don’t worry though! ECU isn’t the best school in NC and there are several options for you. You can apply to some nearby private schools or try community college. I personally recommend community college because ECU is very good at handling transfers. Good luck with your applications!
