Will I get into Florida State University?

<p>I am applying for the Fall 2015 Semester as an Undergrad Freshmen to Florida State University. I never really had the best test scores or GPA but I have taken rigorous classes throughout high school. I'm also a part of many extra-circulars. My GPA (weighted) is a 3.45, yikes (my gpa kinda tanked my sophomore year when I had to go out and miss a couple months for surgery). My superscored ACT and SAT are a 25 and a 1540. The honors classes I took my freshmen and sophomore years were not weighted, but I have taken AP Language and am in AP Calculus AB and AP Physics Part II. Throughout HS, I've always been advanced in math and science classes. I take part in clubs and sports as well. I have been a part of sophomore and senior class council, Boys & Girls Club of America Keystone Club, Community Service Club, Jazz Band, Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Track & Field. I also take piano lessons as well as courses to achieve my private pilots license (well over 25 hours). I do live overseas so there aren't nearly as many opportunities as there are stateside. Do I have a chance? No negative answers please :D</p>

<p>Your GPA is a little on the low side however you went through something not very many people have to go through. I would explain how the surgery impacted that year in your application. If at all possible I would try and improve your ACT and SAT scores. You sound like you have been very involved throughout high school and you sacrificed a couple A’s by challenging yourself in AP courses. Since you’re overseas that will be a plus for you because you will help diversify the student population. You sound well rounded and I think you have a great chance at being admitted</p>

<p>Thanks for your feedback Swanny! In my essay I did talk about how I live overseas, and I wish I could’ve gotten my information dealing with my surgery in there somewhere. Thank you though!</p>
