Will i get into FSU?

Hey guys i am really nervous about getting accepted to FSU. I am currently a Junior (Rising Senior in a couple weeks!) and missed probably about almost half the school year due to having Pneumonia and then later diagnosed with mono. Based off what i tell you below what are my chances of getting into UCF or FSU and maybe even UF if there is a possibility for either summer or fall. I dont mind which term and would it look bad if i only take 1 AP as a senior next year and the rest honors? I am Currently in 3 AP’s and the rest Honors
I have:
-4.2 weighted GPA
-3.5 unweighted GPA
-Part of the Varsity Soccer Team and Cross Country Team
-Part of 3 Honors Society Clubs: NHS, Spanish Honors Society, and English Honors Society as well as being an officer for DECA for freshman year and sophmore year
-260 Service Hours
-1620 SAT/24 ACT

Another thing that i think would help me is i have my own business. I plan on majoring in International Business and i have my own website for my product and it has really took off even helped me buy my own car and be financially stable for myself and make more money then any 17 year old i know.

Also should i take an AP class online over summer to help my GPA?

Hope to hear from you soon as i am stressing over it a lot everyday /:

UF: high match/low reach
FSU: high match
UCS: Match

The class rigor of your senior year does “matter”, but it’s less important than your GPA, class rigor (9th thru 11th grade) and test scores. If your senior schedule is inline with your peers in high school, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Taking the AP class (and getting an A) would help your GPA, and earn you some college credit. So, if you have the time, sure, go ahead.

However, I think you should also focus on increasing your test scores. Study for the SAT or ACT and take it again, early in the fall. Increasing your score will help with UF (make it a high match) and FSU (make it a match), and help your chances of earning a merit scholarship at UCF. In fact, if it’s a question of talking the AP class or studying for the SAT/ACT, I think you should spend the time on studying for the test.

Your EC’s are great, just keep it up. :)

Good Luck

The SAT range at UF for last year’s accepted freshman was 1740 (25%) to 2040 (75%), and the ACT range is 26 to 31 so I’m afraid that UF is currently more of a reach than a match. If you can re-take your tests and raise your scores above 1800 and 27 you will be a more likely admit. You are probably ok for FSU and UCF.

thanks guys. i bought the real ACT book, ACT barrons flashcards and some SAT Prep and will be taking both again in June hopefully i get really good scores in them, so nervous :-SS i don’t mind not getting to UF but i realllllllly want to go to FSU

Bump
