I’m a high school junior looking at Georgetown and wondering if I have a good chance of getting in. My GPA is about a 4.3 weighted. I got a 30 on the ACT. I’m involved in my school’s varsity gymnastics and dance teams, a leadership and community service club, National Honor Society, and I have a job at my local gymnastics club. I’ve will have taken more than 10 honors and AP classes, 4 years of Spanish, and 6 math courses by the time I graduate. I’m currently ranked 13 out of 305 in a rigorous public high school. Where do I stand?
What is your unweighted GPA? Also that ACT is going to be a bit low. I applied to Georgetown this fall so if you have any questions about it feel free to PM me. Right now as it stands you’re likely looking at an uphill battle though class rank looks superb. If interested in knowing my stats and how everything ends up PM me. Best of luck!
My unweighted is a 3.96. I have to take the ACT again for a school required one this spring, so I’m hoping to get my score up. Thanks for your response!
If my HS senior had your stats, I’d tell her to pray for at least a 33 on the ACT to be in the conversation (or at least to keep it from being a close call) for Georgetown.
Otherwise, you’ve got a lot of other things in your favor for Georgetown.
Congrats to you for the good work you did in HS.
gpa is good, but your scores are really low for Georgetown. try applying to their school of foreign service in qatar, you have a much better chance of getting in there. as for the dc campus, your essays need to be well done and your standardized scores could use improvement. great gpa, Georgetown also cares a lot about EC’s and athlete recruitment
