I have a 3.6 GPA unweighted, but my school only sends weighted, which is a 4.0. I know it is low for Georgetown, but its low from my sophomore year, when I dealt with family death.
My SAT is a 2300, I have 7 APs with all 5's, and 3 SAT subject tests with scores around 750.
My AP classes indicate a love for history and english (Applying Pre-law). My B's, from the start, have been in required science and math courses.

Extracurriculars: 600 Community service hours, play softball, church choir, founder of organization designed to make disabled kids feel better about themselves, leader in teen advocacy group that teaches awareness of teen dating violence, in school, VP of Junior State of America, in Model UN, Mock Trial, Key Club, etc. Published poet, and I am a minority.

You deff. have a good chance. Both of my parents went there. In my school 4 kids already got in and I think on of them had stats like you(I live in the west coast). Do you go to a college prep, or a private school? What type of minority are you, if your black or Hispanic I think it will help you a ton. If you have a essay then yes I think you will get in. Long story short I think you will get in, my friend got in with a 2100 and a 4.1. GOOD LUCK!

College convert your weighted back into unweighted when they review your apps just so you know. If anything prevents you from getting in, it is that GPA.

I think you have a fantastic shot. That GPA will be a negative on your app, but if you have a strong upward trend from sophomore year, you’ll probably make up for it. Your SATs are great for Georgetown and your course rigor looks pretty exceptional. Your ECs are also fantastic and I think minority status should clinch it for you.

i believe that you have a very good chance
and ur a minority which is even better!!!
your GPA is not amazing butttt you could make that up for excellent letters of rec and a rocking college essay!

You have a great chance, especially being a minority. I think they will be understanding about the family death, and you have good EC’s that point toward your interest. Good luck!
