Will I get into HYPSM?

<p>Hey Guys, as a Junior in High School, I was wondering if i had a shot at going into any of the HYPSM schools. Thanks :)
Male, From Nepal, lived in Finland for 10 years. Now in the US. I speak 5 languages fluently as well.
Class Rank: Top 5% : 12/708
GPA: unweighted- 4.6 weighted- 4.0
SAT: 2300- 800 math, 750 reading, 750 writing</p>

<p>My teacher recommended me to take on the IB program. I have a choice of taking either the IB or the AP program, which would you recommend? </p>

- Math Club

- Soccer 4 years
- Programming Club
- Created applications for Nokia and microsoft and apple.
- Volunteer at my dads work to help out ( At nokia/ microsoft) about 150hrs till now.
Thats basically it. I know ill do good in the IB classes despite all the rumors saying IB is a living hell.
So, any answers will be appreciated. Thank you :D I'd like to major in Comp. Sci.</p>

Given your qualifications, you seem like a very competitive candidate! However, be sure to keep in mind that HYPSM is a longshot for almost everyone! Best of luck.

Considering all of HYPSM have sub-8% acceptance rates, I’m inclined to say no, probably not. But you’re a very strong student so you’ll definitely get a look there, that being said, nobody should assume they’ll get into a HYPSM.

Agh wow I’m not exactly qualified to give chances, but I’d say you’re very qualified to get into these schools. However, qualification doesn’t always mean you’ll get in :frowning:

@Asutosh11 I think one of them should accept you at least; I think no more than two or three, however, so use your Early Action slot wisely on your first choice.

You sound like someone with whom I would love to attend college; let’s hope that HYPSM see you for the impressive applicant you are.
