Hello, my name is Byron Ashley. I am currently a freshmen at the University of Kansas, but may transfer to Indiana this fall. I was wondering what my chances are of getting into IU? I did pretty poorly in high school, with a 21 ACT and 3.25 GPA, but in my first semester of college i got a 3.6 GPA.

IU doesn’t care about your high school stats (act included) after you’ve completed like 26 credits at a different university/junior college. I took this route as well and I’m smoking a lot of the kids who got in with 30+ acts.

im not going to have 26 credit hours before, so i have to use my high school info as well as my college info

If you have less than 26 credit hours before you matriculate to IU, then your act score will work against you. I’m sure more weight will be given to your college GPA though. ACT is just 1 of the many criteria they use to evaluate you so try to shine in other places. Extra curricular activities is a start. It seems like there was a big emphasis on EC’s when I transferred.
