Extra curricular hours (approx.): 10,000 band, 5000 library, 1000 church piano, 200 Spanish club, 150 NHS

My essays will be exceptional; teacher recs will be average, about 2 outstanding recs

My dream school is Stanford; What schools do i have a chance for? What do i need to work on? What more things do I need to have?

Reach: Stanford, Princeton, Rice, Brown, Columbia, Boston, Cornell, Washington University @ St. Louis, Yale, Tufts, UC Berkley

safety: UT, Texas A&M, Baylor, CU

my music: is it a hook??

Are you applying for aid?

no i'm not. why? should i?

Applying for financial aid will hurt your chance greatly. Since you are not, I'd say you have a good chance.
CHS...Do you go to Clements?

omg..i dnt buy it...all those ecs shesh seems fabricated

the EC list was kinda tiring to read :-/

but if you don't put it across like a laundry list to the adcom (certainly not possible for stanford because they specifically say not to send a resume) then you have a great chance

Nothing spectacular. I will say rejected at Stanford, Columbia, Princeton and Yale.

Dude,
1. Do you get anytime to sleep with all the stuff that you do?
2. Are you planning to major in music? If yes, then you have a good chance
3. If not music, then I would say that a. Better score well on SATs and b. Try to get involved in activities related to the field that you plan to major in.
4. Church activities dont count.

Because the list is so long, I dont remember a lot of what I read but one thing surely stood out - you know how to play the piano and that you are a gifted musician. Again, it depends on your intended major and how you tie it in (musicians are gifted mathematicians for example). You have good ECs and I think you have as good of a shot as the next person out there. Random walk down the wallstreet

applying for aid to ivies will not hurt your chances, we are CANADIANS, needblind, except for stanford. 1310 is good enough

Your hours are a bit difficult to believe.

10,000 hours of band is about 9 hours a day for the past three years.
5,000 library means that you spend about 4.5 hours each day in the library for the past three years.
1000 church piano is about 1 hour EACH day playing the piano in the church for the past three years.

So that means that in the last three years, u have spent about 14.5 hours each day just doing these three ECs.

You also can't just say that you're essays will be exceptional. You don't know that.

Anyways, it looks like you have good chances if you raise ur SATs and stop bsing.

btw adides, who told you church activities don't count? are you on the adcom?
