Unless the OP is applying to one of the more competitive programs ie jmc it doesn't matter when he applies because he'll most likely be accepted.

Oh and I have no bias towards UM. Don't let my location fool you. I almost went to MSU but decided to go to Bowling Green instead because of their english/philosophy programs and the honors program.

Alrighty buddy, I wasn't actually trying to trash MSU in any way, so you can get that out of your mind. Perhaps my wording was incorrect, I didn't mean to say MSU was lower-tier, perhaps a better word would have been strong. Now, in general, the Big Ten is quite strong (you'd be hard pressed to find a school in it that doesn't have at least one to two of the best programs in the country). What I was trying to do however was put the conversation back on topic and give the kid a little perspective, tell him or her, to stop worrying and just get on with more important things in life (not that realistically there are more important things as a junior/senior, but you know what I mean).

I'm sorry if you thought I was trying to bash MSU, but all I was trying to do was push a little perspective back into the conversation.

And loyalties push the tint on those glasses in a variety of ways, so before you start pushing your rhetoric on me, make sure to consider how everyone is affected, both on the up and down of collegiate rankings.

HAHA, you are such a troll Quincy. Someone says ONE THING about MSU that isn't glorifying, and you have to come on and trash the person and say that they have "UM loyalties". Give it up. We all have opinions. We all can share them. If they differ from your views, that doesn't mean they are wrong. Grow up and quit thinking that everyone is out to get Michigan State just because they don't praise it every chance they get to.
