Will I get into Northwestern ED?

I think a more appropriate tittle for this...errr....rant/question is can I get into Northwestern Early Decision.

Hello! So...I just applied Early Decision to Northwestern, and I want to know what my chances are of getting into the school in order to soften the blow when I get rejected. Haha, I know I sound pessimistic there are people out there with way higher scores than me that got rejected. Although, I do think i'll be able to handle the course load if a miracle happens and I do get in.

Here are the statssss

Weighted GPA: 6.333 out of god knows what
Unweighted GPA: 3.45
Class Rank: top 11% (around 65/640?)
ACT: 29

Activities: Load of volunteer work and all that shizz. I really don't feel like listing it and i'm sure you don't feel like reading it.

Currently, i'm taking 5 AP classes, last year I took Ap Bio and Ap US, and the year before that I took Ap psych. The rest of my classes are all honors.

My grades are generally As and Bs, and a few C's scattered throughout my high school career. Although that is mostly attributed to my transferring of schools in the middle of freshman year. Now that REALLY jacked up my grades. For example, instead of taking regular/honors bio like everybody else, my teacher thought it would be a brilliant idea to stick me in Ap Bio with no bio background whatsoever, and I got a C both semesters (although I did get a 5 on the ap exam). My previous high school was extremely selective so the faculty went a little crazy with my class placements.

Oh, and I wrote a really moving sob story about how my dad got a brain tumor and how that made me want to become a doctor, if that helps. Yeah, I might sound a little underwhelmed with my description of it but trust me, its a good essay and its 100% real.

So do I have no chance of getting in whatsoever? Or is there a glimmer of hope in the dark abyss that is my life?

Northwestern’s ED rate tends to be quite forgiving, so i think your chances are pretty okay. Your ACT is a little low, and i dont see any outstanding ECs, but if you get your grades up, then i think there is a good chance ! Best of luck.

lol yeah my act score ****es me off so much…if it only were one point higher! I took it 6 times and got a consistent 29. The first time I got 25 science, 27 math, 36 reading, 30 English, and the second time I got 27 science, 30 math, 34 English, 25 reading. Who in the hell goes from a 36 to a 25 in one subject? And my reading/other scores kept fluctuating like that all 6 times! I have a lot more EC’s, but I didn’t list them all. An updated, yet still abridged list is…

I dunno, ever since I came across this college confidential thing I am feeling really bummed out about NW. I mean there are kids on here who scored a 34 or whatever on their act, and are still panicking about getting in! Meanwhile, I know I am super smart, but I had some really bad luck in high school. When I say bad luck, I am not kidding.

your act is just a little low but other than that your good chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1041167-chance-me-i-will-chance-you-back.html
