Will I get into NYU/Stony Brook/UConn with a B+ in honors Chemistry

I’m currently a junior in HS with a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 4.3 (ish) weighted GPA. I got an 81 in honors Chem the first quarter and u believe I can bring it up to a B+ or an A- by the end of the year. Will colleges not accept me if I major in Bio with a bad Chem grade? I have had all A+'s in science before and I currently have an A in AP Bio. Will this B in Chem hurt my chances of being a Bio major? This year I’m also taking AP psych, AP Lang, honors math analysis (pre-Calc and Calc A), AP Bio, and dual enrollment us history and have all A’s in my AP classes and A-'s in my honors.

Bump?

Relax! Getting a B+, even in a core subject for you, is not going to keep you out of any of those schools. Your grades and the rigor of your classes are definitely good enough for those schools if the rest of your application is up to standard.

It will not affect your chances of being a Bio or any other major, because once you are in college no one will care what you got for high school Chem.

One way to think of it is this: Outside of the top 30 or so schools, even a few B+'s aren’t going to keep you out if your overall application is really good. And inside the top 30 or so, even getting all A’s isn’t going to necessarily get you in. For those top schools, a B+ makes a difficult crapshoot into a slightly more difficult one, which is not something to worry about.

Haha dude for all the schools you listed with the expection of MAYBE NYU (depends on major) most students have a GPA lower than yours. UConn kids get mostly Bs and a few As same with stony brook. For NYU 4 As and 2Bs each year with like 3 AP classes each year should be good depending on major. (obviously for stern and maybe Tisch you need all As but for pretty much any of the other NYU colleges your good)

The person above probably did not see your list because other than maybe NYU none of those schools appear to be top 30.

To put your worry into perspective my brother got pretty much ALL Bs sophomore year and got like 3 Bs in juniors and senior year, he is Asian and got like a 34 on the ACT and he goes to JHU. For a school like UConn you are probably going to be more qualified then 90 percent of the rest of the school.
