Okay, so I spend countless nights researching Penn. I love the school and the business program, which is why Penn has struck a chord with me but anyways...

I'm currently a junior in high school.

I have a 4.0135 gpa, with only one B in my first semester of chemistry 2.
I am ranked number 2 out of 407.
When my high school career is over I will have taken the hardest classes possible that my school offers.

I am active in student government, national honor society, the tennis team, freshmanemtpr program, and choir. (choir officer) I will also be attending Missouri girls state

I'm An army brat so in not really from anywhere, but I currently live in Missouri.

My volunteer work will include community blood drives, an active involvement in special olympics, and volunteering in a physical therapy clinic that helps wounded soldiers

My biggest doubt is my test scores.. I got a 26 on the ACT but I plan to take it again ( i actually got a tutor)

Get that ACT up to 31/32, which is still low, but anything below that will probably result in rejection. You can try taking the SAT to see if you will do better on that.

It’s a little late for this advice, but you need highly unique ECs for a school like Penn. They really are looking to “build a class”, so considering the high level of academic achievement present in their applicant pool, you must stand out. Your ECs are a little on the generic side. Try to find something to emphasize- show passion in a specific area. Nothing is impossible, however. Your best bet is to get those scores WAY up. Anything under 33 will not turn the tide in your favor. Also, make sure you write a standout Why Penn? essay. Applying ED, if you’re sure Penn is your first choice, would give your chances an appreciable boost.
Some perspective: I was denied from Penn this year with 2210 on my SATs and a 4.2 GPA. If you are deferred, waitlisted, or denied in the end, life will march obstinately on.

Yeah. I guess on paper my EC’s seem pretty bland. But within student government our main platform is special needs children. So when I do decide to apply, should I go on to explain exactly what I do in my EC’s? And a lot of the activities I do in high school revolve around he military. So should I play up the fact that Im involved in a lot of activities that support the army? I figured that was something that made me stand out because I’ve never really had a place to call home, and my friends move like every two years. Idk, but thanks for all the feed back!
