<p>Oh good! When do you find out if you get that? Does that pay for room, board, books, fees as well? </p>
<p>What is your back up if you don’t get Posse or Gates? Is there a NY SUNY that you like? If not, try to find one. If you qualify for a lot of need-based aid, then a NY SUNY may end up being your most affordable choice if those other options don’t work out.</p>

<p>I don’t really think PSU is going to care if you’re in a sport or not…unless you’re going to be on one of THEIR teams.</p>
<p>I have to apply for the scholarship soon and I believe it pays for room, board and books as well. As for a back up, I have other schools I’d like to apply to and New York schools aren’t any of them. I do not wish to remain in New York to complete college. I’m not extremely worried about winning the Gates in order to pay for my Penn State education, my family and I have recognized that it will be expensive and I’m applying and have applied for additional scholarships.</p>
