Will I get into Purdue U?

I am a high school senior from NJ. My GPA is a 3.3 and I scored a 1050 on my SAT for math and reading. Throughout high school I have participated in a good amount of extra curricular activities. I believe my essay and letters of recommendation are very good also. I have already submitted in all of my necessary materials and at this point, I just have to play the waiting game. My intended major is Economics within the School of Management. What kind of chances do I have to get accepted into Purdue.

I’d say its a bit of a stretch for you, but not impossible.

What’s great about Purdue is they look at the whole person, and not just the GPA/Test scores! While your GPA isn’t that bad, your SAT scores are a bit low. But that should be ok, because you have a good amount of EC’s which shows you’re involded in school, a good essay which shows you are passionate about purdue, and the letters of rec are further proof that you’re a great student/individual. So, I wouldn’t say you’re a “definite in”, but you certainly have a good shot at getting in. Good luck! Please chance me:

I just heard back and got accepted with a similar GPA and SAT scores. I also have numerous EC activities, an outstanding letter of recommendation from a former employer and a good essay. I applied for the College of Technology in the Professional Aviation major. Good Luck! -Andrew

My daughter was accepted with similar stats. She didn’t even send in a teacher rec. letter so don’t worry too much!
