Will i get into Stony Brook?

Well i have a gpa of 88 and sat of 1450 also i did a summer research internship at a community college also at a museum. Also i had 3 ap classes and in a club for 3 years. What are my chances?

What do you guys think?

Stony brook is definitely a reach considering your SAT is way below their standards. I would say that you need at least a 1690 on the SAT for them to even consider you. You’re GPA is also low compared to other applicants. I would consider looking at some community colleges depending on your level of financial need. You will most likely get rejected from Stony brook if not deferred.

No my counselor said that i can get into stony brook because my reading and math are high but my writing is low that is whats pulling my sat score down

Ok then, why are you asking if your counselor said you can get in? If your counselor said so then you will.

Seriously, your SAT is way below the 25th percentile. I think it’s a high reach, not a match.

So you are saying my only option is community college?

Can’t you apply to EOP for Stonybrook.
I think this page may be helpful:http://www.stonybrook.edu/eopaim/about.shtml
To be eligible:" you must be a New York State resident for 12 months prior to enrollment.
-Ineligible for admission under traditional standards, but demonstrate potential for completing a college program; and
-In need of financial assistance within legislated income guidelines. In selecting students for the program, priority is given to applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. If in the year prior to enrollment your family income falls within EOP guidelines due to unemployment, separation, divorce or death of a parent, etc., you may still not qualify for EOP if you are not from an historically disadvantaged background.
Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
-Have received a New York State high school diploma or its equivalent.
-Meet the Income Guidelines specified in the column below (priority will be given to “applicants from families characterized by historical, educational, economic and cultural disadvantagement)”
To be eligible you MUST have at least a CR+M of 900 and there’s a couple of other requirements, but just click on the link I provided and click on eligibility and it will give you more information.
