Will i get into these Florida colleges out of state?

I have applied to University of Florida, Florida State University, University of South Florida, and University of Central Florida.

GPA- 3.45
ACT- 25
SAT- math- 540 reading- 590 writing- 460

What are my chances of getting into these schools? My top #1 choice would be FSU and i have already been accepted into the University of Tampa

Hey, I’ll go down the list.

Sorry but I don’t see a chance at UF. Try recalculating your GPA and see what you have because their average is like 3.8-4.2 weighted. And beyond that, they usually want like a 1800 SAT.

FSU I see more as a low reach or high match. I think theres a good chance so you should try. I’ve seen things saying their looking for about a 1150+ so you’re not far from it. A really really good essay maybe?

I feel the same about UCF and USF as I do about FSU. I think they want a 1150+. Your GPA is probably more average for them than the top 2 though.

What’s your rank? And are you URM? These actually may help you out, IMO. And I’m sorry if I ruined your dreams, I think with a better SAT you’d be good (Ik it sucks they pin a lot on just 1 test). Good luck on your choices!

yeah I’m planning on retaking the SAT this november. I had done exceptionally well (90th percentile) in math on the PSAT so I hope I can do better on this retake.

I’m not sure but i would say at least top 25% for my school. And yes I believe so because I am hispanic.

No to UF, high reach to FSU, reach/high match UCF/USF.

Curious why you want to go to florida school OOS. I live in FL and no sure as hell I wouldn’t go in-state if I didn’t have to.

How would you feel about my chances at being transferred into FSU? I have been accepted into University of Tampa, Auburn University, and St. Leo University. Which school would give me the greatest chance of transferring there? and would I be able to do so after as soon as one semester?

UF: Reach
FSU: High match
UCF: High match
USF: High match

At least you got in somewhere so it’s a good thing…

how greatly would you say a greatly improved SAT score (im retaking it in november) would improve my chances?

And what exactly does high match fall under?

All four schools would see prospects improve significantly if you could get a 1800+. UCF, FSU and USF would become low matches and UF a high match.

By the way a high match is a near-reach.

Thank you. Are there any smaller Florida schools you’d recommend I apply to as a fall back? Or are Tampa and st Leo’s good enough schools?
And a near reach I take it is like a so and so/ 50% chance?

FGCU, FAU, FIU are all more in your range imo. I know a lot of kids who went to FGCU and they all supposedly like it so check that out. My cousin went to FAU and loved it. And the FSU ACT middle 50% is 25-28 so I’d say for FSU more like 25%. Just look up each schools profile and that should give you a rough estimate since most FL state schools have GPA/SAT/ACT as number 1 priorit.

Also maybe USF but taht will probably be 50/50

yeah I’m going to look into those, thanks. How hard do you think it would be to transfer from a smaller Florida school to FSU or UF?

bumppppppp

You might have a chance at USF. I just got into USF SP with a higher GPA and 1570 on the SAT. You can always transfer.

is there an increased difficulty in admission between the different USF campuses? like between the tampa, sarasota, st. petersburg ones?

i retook the SAT now and got my scores back

math- 670
reading- 520
writing- 530

total- 1190, 1720

so how much do these new scores improve my chances of admissions at FSU, USF,UF, and UCF?

bumpppppppp
