I'm a transfer student from Santa Monica College with a 3.9 GPA (only 1 B), I'll have completed my IGETC, Major Prereqs., and plenty of units. I also am in the TAP (transfer alliance program) at SMC called the "scholar's program."

Unfortunately the Major I applied to, Business Econ, has a mere 17.8% acceptance rate!!!

Also, I was sent the letter to compete for the "Regent's Scholarship" which I originally thought meant that I got in, but now I think it means nothing.

no, I created a UCLA ID, saying I was “none of the above” (not a student or alumni), but it won’t let me access the URSA site or the MyUCLA site when I log in

You shouldn’t even be trippin dog. I got in last year with your stats but 3.6 gpa. Just as long as you had a good essay, and a few nice ECs/work experience to go along with ti.

I’d say you’re 95% in, from a rough estimate of the transfers in my econ classes.

Remember, the 82.2% who didn’t get in were the people with missing pre reqs, no TAP, or below 3.5.

Ive heard from many instructors and scholars affiliated people at my CC, that TAP does not give you that priority if youre applying under a IMPACTED major, which is exactly what business econ is.

glenn is right except for communications. dnt worry glenn i practically guarantee that you would get in under bus econ and if not then def as your alternate

david adkins… so what would the point in doing TAP be then… besides having that second option of selecting a different major. if it doesn’t give you priority over other students in an impacted major. i’m sure it does… because you hear about students being accepted with 3.5 TAP into competitive majors. correct me if im wrong anyone.
