Will I get into UF?

I'm a white female applying OOS to UF's architecture program. My cumulative weighted GPA is approx 3.8-3.9. ACT score of 25 (that's without writing. Haven't gotten my score w/ writing yet but I think it will help). I'm in a bunch of extracurriculars including varsity pole vault and winning archery tournaments, and I'm in NHS and president of National Art Honor Society. Great work experience (lifeguard and Lifeguard instructor for 4 years). I thought my short answer and essay were both great. One of the teachers who revised my essay said that they'd be crazy not to accept me with that essay, and my college counselor teared up reading it. It was about how my experience with poverty and how travel/community service changed my perspective on the world. In my opinion, I think it's a memorable essay and hope it will impress. The teacher who first revised my essay also wrote a letter of rec for me and I'm very confident that it's a good one. As for awards, I haven't done anything super memorable but I have been on honor roll all four years of high school, won titles and trophies for sports, received a scholarship to fund my study abroad trip for architecture, and other leadership-related awards. Personally, I think my academics will prevent me from getting in but I'm hoping my essay and ECs will balance it out. What do you think?

Your stats are a bit low. UF admissions is holistic, so it does seem a bit random. You have a chance (think of it as a high match), but you should think about re-taking your ACT. Folks with stats lower than yours get accepted (and folks with far better stats get rejected…got to love holistic admissions).

Good Luck!
