Hi so I am currently a freshmen Film Student at Virginia Commonwealth University and a Maryland Resident.
I have discovered that film school is not for me and I am trying to transfer into UMD in this coming spring for the business or english school.
This is my first semester at VCU, so they cannot consider my application until they get my first semester transcripts in late december. This worries me because it will be so late in the game when they decide...

I think I will finish this semester with around a 3.6
My classes are: Calc 200, Psych 101, English 112, Cinema 100, History of Cinema 101, Jazz Orchestra

My High School Stats:
Weighted GPA- 3.879
Unweighted GPA - 3.47
SAT's- 1940
Took 1 dual enrollement writing class at the Community College.

I Had about 6 AP courses and the rest honors where offered.
Was on the varsity sailing team, 2 bands, and the marching band freshmen year
I have a really extensive resume of independent of jobs, internships, film awards, EC's, Community work, volunteerism, and a few art and academic awards, I've designed a website for a company, and started a foundation to donate sports equipment to underprivileged schools under that company.
Ive won an honorable mention and second place in a national film competition for a documentary

Any comment on whether or not you think I will get in next semester would be a major help...
i would really like to get out of VCU and Richmond, and Maryland seems like much more my fit academically and locationally.
It is also a change I really need to make for financial reasons

Thank you SO much...

Ben
