I’m a junior in high school and I’ve been researching colleges for like a year now and I’m pretty set on Miami as my top choice as it has everything I want. I would like a little feedback on whether or not you think I’d get in and if I would get merit aid. (I can’t afford full price but I won’t get need based aid)
My stats:
•1400 SAT (not taking again)
•3.8 Unweighted GPA
•4.5 Weighted
•7 AP classes (including senior year)
•EC’s include a job at a country club, varsity soccer, played basketball freshmen year, was a class officer, play premier soccer year round, and over 50 hours of community service. (Might be forgetting some but that’s all I think)
•I’m from New York (if that helps)
•white
•male
•I would apply early action
•also I have visited twice ( I know they like to see interest)
•intended major is either finance, Econ, or business tech.
Any input is greatly appreciated!
I say your chances are really great. Your gpa and SAT score is at the high range of a typical class. The AP classes also weigh in your favor. I am assuming you scored in the 4/5 range on the AP tests. As for merit aid, hard to tell. You are in the ballpark, but it varies by year.
Having attended The U myself many moons ago, and having gone there recently with my son on a visit, the campus is amazing now. Great school. Good luck.
