Will I get into UMich?

<p>I am a White Male from Michigan. I am a senior in high school. ***My brother currently attends the University of Michigan, and my grandfather attended the university. I am IN STATE.</p>

<p>I applied Early Action to LSA.</p>

<p>3.858 Un-Weighted GPA.
ACT - 28 <em>*((Eng - 27 - Mth - 27 - Rdg - 29 - Sci - 28))
Rank - 25/184 (Top 14%)
APs: US History, AB Calculus, Language & Comp, US Government *</em>
((4/5 AP classes taken/offered at my school))</p>

<p>All 3 essays (Including Common Application) were written very well and were very unique
Teacher recommendation from AP English teacher was superbly written
My school sends a few students to the University of Michigan every year ***((My brother included))</p>

<p>Probably. GPA is good. Rigor is Good. EC is OK. ACT probably good enough for GPA. In state helps. Legacy helps. Not a slam dunk. Good luck. Go Blue!</p>

<p>@resipsa what do you mean by “ACT probably good enough for GPA”? I have a UW 4.0 and a 29 ACT…Do they look for a stark consistency in both?</p>

<p>What I meant is that I would be surprised if U-M denied the OP admission because of an ACT score of 28 considering the overall strength of the application. With a lower GPA and less rigorous curriculum, poor EC’s, OOS and non-legacy, the ACT score could push U-M into the reach category.</p>

<p>I wouldn’t say it is guaranteed, but you are in a great range when it comes to GPA, and your ECs are really impressive. I’d say you have a good shot. :)</p>
