Will I get into UNC-Chapel Hill?

Here we go. I am instate.

4.6 weighted GPA, 3.9 unweighted
2130 SAT (670R,790M,670W) or 2170 Superscore (670R,790M,710W)
ACT, I think its best I leave blank

Lets assume for all general purposes GREAT recommendations

ECs are a bit shabby.
Beta club
A lot of hours at humane society, but <100 (Im assuming for ahead)

I was a junior marshal, and have been on honor role every year at high school.

Numerical chances would be best please, but Id love additional feedback. Thanks

bumpitybump

Numerical chances? You know that this won’t be accurate, but ok. 90%

Instate I think you have a great chance

Awesome guys Thx. I was worried about the lack of ECs.

UNC: Match

Your SAt is >75% for UNC and thereore u have a really solid application. GPa is awesome both W and UW (i can assume u took some rigorous courses like Aps). EC would have been nicer if there were more, lol! try to find a leadership position u hold to show admissions committees- they love this quality in an applicant.

Overall i think u have a solid match

chance back!

Your chances look good! SAT score is high, weighted and unweighted GPA are good, you’re in state, volunteer hours look good as well. I’d say spend some more time on your EC’s and write good essays when you apply and you should be good! Did you take any AP classes?

I have. AP stats-5, APUSH-4, AP Lang-5. Mad about the 4,i thought I knew the subject so well. Nevertheless it will give me credit. Next year, I’m taking ap euro, calc bc, and (hopefully) computer science. Thx a lot guys. Just a quick question, what does match mean? I never understood lingo like that. :-)

Bumpbumpbump

You should be fine regardless of residency with that GPA+SAT. Definite shoe-in for in-state, probably 85-90% in for OOS.

Wow, you really think? I was thinking good chances instate, low chances out of state, due to my cap ECs. Luckily, i am instate.

Honestly, UNC is really not as mystically hard to get into as people like to think…

Is that true for out of state as well? For a kid with good EC’s and a great GPA and schedule, what would you put at minimum SAT?

Well, 30% is pretty selective. I guess a lot of applicants are the more jockey sports nuts however, so that would lower the application rate.

I have another inquiry. My SAT is somewhat spread out (670 in reading, 670 in writing, 790 in math). Would this be a good thing or a bad thing on an application, considering my intended major is computer science which is heavily math oriented.

I really shouldn’t speak for OOS since I went to a school that regularly sent 10-15 kids to UNC-CH every year. I just look at them and don’t see the uber hard admission standards people talk about. So I recant my assessment for OOS.

And yes, there are a LOT of people who apply to UNC who just shouldn’t.
