I am currently a junior and here is a summary of my stats...

GPA- 3.83 weighted

SAT- 2090 (will try again in june after studying)

Extracurricular- 4 years cross country(2 year letter), 4 years basketball(2 year letter), NHS, Texas History Club founder/ vice president, Held a job since sophomore summer, AAU every summer

At this point I think I have about a 40/60 chance of getting accepted, what do you guys think?

No, that means (at least IMO) that Miami has more stringent admissions (sorry, I didn’t know that), but I think that UT has much more applicants and just lets in more students.

I’m changing my opinion, as I have thought about this for a while: If you’re in-state, congratulations…you’re going to be accepted to the University of Texas at Austin-Go Longhorns! :)

You have a better chance of getting into Miami. UT’s acceptance rate is skewed because of the top 10% rule. If you live in Texas and aren’t in the top 10%, then it is very difficult to get into UT.
Your SAT score seems competitive for Miami. I don’t know anything about BC.

if you either raise your class rank and or SAT score, I’d say you have a good shot at getting in. Be warned though, I’ve seen UT reject some people you wouldn’t expect.

My buddy here at a competitive public school ranked 20% with a 34 ACT score and Varsity Basketball and Cross Country got flat out rejected.

If you’re instate in public school (top 10%) you’re in. But if not…I’ts been weird this year, my school doesn’t rank so no top 10% and my friend with a 4.2 (out of 4.2) unweighted got capped at UT while he got into Columbia.
