Will I get my admission rescinded for dropping a class?

So title says it all basically. I just got my acceptance letter from UC Davis (Not TAG) today but I also dropped my Calculus class. My Calculus class is being offered again in the summer so I was thinking of taking it then. Another thing to note is that the Calculus I’m required to take is Calculus for BioSci but my CC doesn’t offer that type so I’ve been stuck in the engineering Calc. Would that help? If you know anyone that’s had a similar experience please let me know how things turned out for them. Thanks!

If that leaves you under 60 units, your done for. You messed up. However, if your still at or above 60 units, then it all depends on the requirements of your major. Let the school know right away.

No I’m way above 60 units. Thanks for your input though.

You need to email the admissions office. Its on a case by case basis. I am in a similar situation with calculus 2.

I emailed admissions and got this reply:

Thank you for contacting us with your question regarding Calculus II. Please understand that if you drop Calculus II or receive a grade less than a C, it would affect your admissions status. This is because the Economics major is a selective major, and admission is based on the completion, by the end of spring, of all four pre-requisite courses: Micro and Macro Economics, and Calculus I and II. If you decide to drop the class now (please let me know) or if you ultimately were to receive a non-passing grade (end of term), you will need to email me a copy of your transcript and I will prepare it for Commensurate Review. The committee would then decide the fate of your admission to UCSB.

“The fate of your admission.” It’s the Titanic going down…

Hmm interesting. I don’t think there’s lots of competition for my major so hopefully that will better my chances.

what ended up happening? Im on this boat right now as well.
