So am planning on taking the MATH 1 subject test this DEC, however most schools require math 2. I have a poor memory of precalculus, which I did last year(taking a gap year). I know UCB recommends MATH2 but am not confident I’ll pass. Should I work and revise MATH 2 or perfect MATH 1.
CS MAJOR btw
If a school recommends something you should consider it a requirement. Brush up on any topics you need to and take Math 2.
Edit: I think this is especially true as a CS major or any STEM).
Math level 1 is for those who have not completed precalculus by the time of the test. So an admissions reader may not look at it favorably if you have complete precalculus but choose math level 1 instead of math level 2.
For Berkeley, the SAT subject tests in math level 2 and a science related to the intended major are recommended (not required) for the College of Chemistry and College of Engineering. The EECS major is in the College of Engineering, but there is also a CS major in the College of Letters and Science, where SAT subject tests are not used. However, all College of Letters and Science frosh enter undeclared, and currently need a 3.3 GPA in the prerequisites to declare the CS major.

thanks!
It’s also important to keep in mind that the UC’s do not accept a Math 1 score at all. On the UC Application, under SAT Subject Tests the only mathematics test that you can submit is Math 2.
Have you posted the same question multiple times. I just replied to one exactly like this one.
