So I just realized that on my UC app, I said that I got an A in statistic class that I took at a community college but I actually got B. Will I get rescinded?
No you will not be rescinded unless you do not let UCSD know about the grade discrepancy. Contact UCSD today.
And I reported that my SAT II Math score was 750 but I acutally got a 720!!! I’m so scared right now. Usually under what circumstance does UCSD rescind their students???
Let them know right away and you’ll be fine.
If you intentionally lie, then that’s when you start having problems.
Hey guys I have the same question but my situation is a bit different. I was admitted to UCSD for Bioengineering and I’m just one week away from finishing community college. I already signed the contract for maintaining admission. Thing is, there’s two classes I’m very likely to get a D on (Statistics and Data Structures in C++); but they are NOT required for my major and are NOT subject requirements, I just took them for the heck of it. Also they are not part of the 60 transferable units I need 'cause I already finished those, and they do not count as IGETC either. I already calculated my final semester and general GPA with these supposed grades and they do not got below 2.0 and 3.0 respectively. I spoke with an admissions officer and she told me there should not be a problem apparently because the contract states that it only matters if the classes are subject requirements or needed for my major. The only thing is that they are UC-transferable, but then again I do not need them for my major. According to the contract I’m fine, but I want to hear it out from someone that knows more or has experienced something similar. Thanks!
@SadNibbaHour: Did you send in your official SAT II subject test scores? If so, UCSD will have the correct score but still let them know of the discrepancy.
@MMAVACA: UCSD should spell out in your provisional admission contract what is expect of you in terms of grades and classes. Usually the contract states that you need to complete all coursework in progress with a C or higher. Getting 2 D’s is going to be a huge issue even if it is not major related but since you talked to a admissions officer (not a student answering phones??), it seems to be OK. I would try to contact another admissions officer since they are UC transferable courses to confirm.
Each case is different, but I still think the D’s will be an issue and UC’s are not shy about rescinding offers. I would everything within my power to get those grades up to a C- by semester end.
Best of luck.
@Gumbymom I was thinking of my SAT math section score when I filled up my SAT II math lv 2 score. I did not intend to lie about that at all
