Will I get rescinded for a D?

Hey guys, I'm a new member and unfortunately my first post is regarding whether I will get rescinded this year from UCSB. I struggled in precalculus the past two semesters of my senior year and ended up with a final grade of a D in the class. My weighted gpa is still around a 3.5 but I'm really afraid of the D because pre calculus is an a-g course.

So I called admissions and they said I need to e-mail one of their counselors/officers with an unofficial transcript and a reason why I got the D. I e-mailed them yesterday and they said it would take no more than 2 weeks for them to get back to me. My main concern is that they are going to review my admissions, I mean I barely got in off the waitlist this year and my SAT's were in the 1700's so I'm not one of the strongest students. Will that be a factor?

In the end, I'm okay with going to a good community college for a few years then transferring to another uc but I'd like to know whether I'm going to get revoked from ucsb or not as soon as possible. You guys have any idea of my chances right now?

it depends. some get rescinded, some dont. if you have a good reason for the D, then they will likely still let you in…however, if the reason is kinda shabby, then you will probably be rescinded

I might have exaggerated my reason a lot but it was definitely justified, I’m just nervous, how long do they typically take to decide these kinds of things?

Takes a couple days, I’d imagine.

Just cross your fingers.

I know that horrid creature of uncertainty that toys with your mental state.

johnjingle, can you update this thread once you get a reply from UCSB admissions?

i might be in the same situation as you except worse…
