Hi, I was admitted as a Fall 2018 transfer student to SDSU and decided to attend there! Basically, I dropped a course I found out I didn’t need this spring because it turns out it wasn’t a pre-requisite for my major (Foods and Nutrition), therefore I was essentially taking it for units at that point. I called the admissions office and asked how much it would affect my admission if I dropped this course and was told that it shouldn’t necessarily be an issue because I would still be completing my required pre-requisite courses and would still complete 60 units, but that they absolutely couldn’t guarantee I wouldn’t get rescinded (However I was told not to really worry about it). I dropped the course because it was really hard and didn’t want to risk failing or affecting my GPA. Without this course, I still completed 60 units and completed the pre-requisites/other courses that I listed on my supplemental application and did well in all of them and didn’t drop my GPA (3.6). I called SDSU admissions about it again to ask if the W would affect me still and the person on the phone told me there’s a chance I could get rescinded because any kind of discrepancy between my transcript and the supplemental application puts me at risk and that I would find out after they give a final review of my transcript. Now I’m really nervous and stressed out about it. Can anyone give me any advice or chance me regarding this and how high of a chance I have of getting my admission rescinded?
You’ll most likely be fine.
You are probably OK i would call SDSU and let them know about your schedule change.(ideally, you would have done that before dropping the class). They don’t like to be surprised when they see the official transcript.
