I got suspended earlier this year for a week and I got a big scholarship to northeastern!!
Chill buddy! It’s far from the end of the world. You can call your admissions offices and ask them what you should do about it. Take a minute to step back and think about how to move forward. There are millions of people in the world that struggle to survive every day, and they would give anything to have our problems.
“@bjkmom gave the definitive answer; none of here knows, so ask your GC. FWIW, I doubt you’d be rescinded.”
Why are you bumping? No one here magically knows the answer. I know you’re searching for relief. None can be logically had here.
You have been repeatedly told what to do, so go do it. On another note, I am having a hard time with the fact that you received a three day suspension for having a blank piece of paper. Is there something more that you’re not telling us? If the paper was blank, what was the reason you brought it into the room? It all makes no sense.
Why would it be a problem for your GC to write that you weren’t thinking and brought a blank sheet of paper into the room which was technically against the rules but in reality wasnt true academic dishonesty? It doesn’t add up. Something’s fishy about this or you wouldn’t be so worried.
People at my school bring blank paper in, copy all the answers for their friends, and take it out, so I understand the potential problem
@XCjunior2016 : Thank you. This old guy had the same question as @Falcon1. So … why DID you bring in a blank sheet of paper, OP? Do you like to make origami cranes to calm yourself down during a break? I think you need to be prepared to answer that question, and your counselor may be more helpful depending on your response.
@XCjunior2016 Ahhh, I see. Thanks for pointing that out. Mystery solved (at least for me). OP, what do you have to say for yourself?
A lot of schools have zero tolerance policies now where kids get suspended for some relatively silly stuff like this and I’m pretty confident that college staff realizes that these policies can be overly punitive. It would be nice if your counselor or another admin would write out what happened exactly to send and not just send a notice that you were suspended. If you are sure they are notifying then I would send an email to your schools letting them know exactly what happened. Since it seems like a harmless mistake and that you have already been punished and presumably have no other issues on your record I would think you would be fine.
my school just replied and said they’ve put it in my file and will contact me if further information is needed. What does that mean?
It means they need to think about whether it will affect their view in admitting you. They may ask for more info later.
"they’ve put it in my file and will contact me if further information is needed. What does that mean? "
Really? It means they will contact you if further information is needed. What else can it mean?
You’ve simply got to decide to believe them at face value or believe that they’re up to no good and lying to your face. Your constant checking and rechecking is craziness.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
At this point, I believe some good advice had been given, and do not see that any additional valuable info being added. The OP’s constant bumping will not change that fact. Closing thread.
