I got accepted to Michigan State in April as a freshman for fall 2013. Currebtly I have a 3.488 gpa. Now im worried that they will take my admission away because I have an E for this semester in Algebra 3. All my other grades are 2 As 2 B+ and 1 B. I'm taking senior seminar, english 12, Cad 1, co-op, and that algebra 3 class. What do you think my chances of getting rescinded are if I fail alg 3 for this semester? I really want to go to MSU...Thank You.

Once you are accepted they can’t deny you unless your GPA falls below 2.0. You have a 3.4 so no worries there. Or if you fail a class that is required for admission. If you already got accepted then you don’t have to worry unless Algebra 3 was a required class.

Not true. Everyone is accepted conditionally until their final transcripts are sent. If there’s a major slip (that can be WAY above a 2.0) then your admission offer can be rescinded.

A failure is definitely going to throw up red flags. It could conceivably result in being rescinded. Is there any way to at least pull it up to a D?

What is Alg 3? I’ve never heard of it

That’s what I heard from peers and assumed. They say that senior year in high school is a blow off year because by the senior year students have already been accepted into the school they want to go to so they no longer have to worry about their GPA. It’s just what i’v heard, i’m not sure.

Romanigypsyeyes has the right idea. With more and more students applying, you don’t want to give counselors any reason to think you won’t be successful in college. Senior year of high school is certainly not a blow-off year!
