Will I get rescinded from UCLA?

Under planned courses for summer I put that I was taking Ochem 12B which was a recommended prerequisite for me but I haven't been able to get the class yet :( I submitted an academic update and am waiting for a response. I told them I'm trying to sign up at a different college than mine but it's not definite and I'll know if I get the class by May 26th. I signed up for another recommended prereq though so hopefully that will balance out?
But I'm not sure if UCLA looks at summer courses, I called UCSD and they said they don't even look at your summer courses. Does anyone have any experience with this situation?
Thank you

You should be fine as long as it’s not a required prereq. It seems as if most of the UC’s, UCLA included, put little to no weight in reported courses for summer because there’s a lot of uncertainty regarding them when you fill out your app in November. Summer/winter courses are often the first ones to be cut when CCs belt-tighten are usually the hardest classes to register for because there are usually only a few sections. The UC’s claim only to take into account your courses through the end of spring for admission purpose. Because reporting anything for summer likely wouldn’t have benefited you in your application, it’s not very likely to hurt you after the fact, at least the way I see it. The only thing you can do now is sit and wait, but I’d be surprised if you were rescinded for non-required summer courses.

Plus there are a lot of people that are admitted to UCLA in the life science department that only completed one semester of ochem, so don’t thing you’re an exception there.

Thank you for your response, it was very helpful. Hopefully you are right and UCLA doesn’t take into account my summer courses. Until then, I’ll keep my hopes up and I’ll definitely post back for future reference.

Which UC’s do you know of that put weight on reported summer courses ?

I just realized how absolutely dreadful my spelling was in that last post. I had a huge midterm today that I had to pull an all-nighter for so if anyone’s reading that thinking I’m a complete bafoon, please take pity on me.

Anyway, I’m glad I could help BiotoUCLA. I’m even more impressed that you understood that. You should be fine, so hopefully you’ll find some peace of mind until you get your decision back.

Hahaha no worries, it happens to the best of us. Yes hopefully all goes well, the worst thing is to get your admission rescinded after your mom already told the whole world you got into UCLA. LOL

Well, great news! UCLA emailed me back and said

Thank you for submitting your transfer PPF. Your admission offer still stands. Not taking Chem 12B during the summer session has no impact on your admission offer. You are not required to take any courses during the summer. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

YAY!!

When did you update your transfer PPF

I think last Thursday, it barely took them any time to respond! Someone else on here said they responded after 15 days but luckily mine was a lot quicker :)
