Will I get rescinded? :(

I was accepted ED to Northwestern and after I got my acceptance, I sort of... slacked off. I'm starting to get really worried because my grades have dropped quite considerably.

I don't have any C's, D's, or F's (thank God!)
But I do have 3 B's (all of which are in AP classes.)
I have a few B's on my transcript but none of them are below an 85.

As of now, I have a B- (80), B (85), and a B+ (88) ( The rest are A's.)
Will I be okay??

I have discussed this with a lot of people, and everyone tells me that I should be alright as long as I don't have a D/F or several C's. But I can't help but be so paranoid :(

Does anyone know if this is enough to get rescinded??
Or will I just get a letter/email of concern?
Thanks!

HS is easy- you SHOULD be rescinded for slacking so much!

But no. If you get any C’s, Ds or Fs, you’r boned.

Not even a C would kill you. You do want to get the grades up a bit, though. Good luck!

i’m in a similar situation. i have 3 As and 3 Bs. of the Bs, one is a 80% in ap physics b. if i’m not careful i could very well end up with a C on my transcript. kind of worrying.

^ haha, same here. i have a b- in ap physics b, but if i do well on my midyear, there’s a chance i may end up with a 85. i have a 85 in ab calc bc, but i guess my main concern is the b- :/

even if you do get 1 C, i highly, highly doubt they’ll rescind you, if that makes you feel better. maybe i just say that to make myself feel better though. =]

the thing is though, i had a perfect 4.0 gpa freshman through junior year. how will it look when my senior transcript has 2 Bs and 1 C lol…

Kinda stupid jeopardizing something you’ve worked toward your entire life. You really couldn’t work at the same level for a few more months?

^Agreed. Your grades should come from your interest in the subject and not from your interest in getting into a top college. With that mindset, there is no such thing as “slacking off”- you will always perform at the same level.

it’s not like right after i got into college, i just stopped working completely.
i had trouble with both ap physics & ap calc bc from the very beginning of the year, and i had b-'s in both classes on my first two progress reports. however, northwestern didn’t see those grades because they never requested my grades for this year.

okay, i checked the northwestern website and it says mid-year reports are not required of ed applicants. i confirmed with my guidance counselor, and she said this means that i will only have to submit my final transcript at the end of the year in june.
i feel very relieved, but i will not make this a reason to not work hard until the end of the year. phew :)

I’m currently taking 7 AP’s and my grades are horrendous compared to years prior. I’m running with basically straight B’s. I’ve got like 4 B+'s, 2 B-'s and a C+. However, I’m not that worried any longer. Firstly, they don’t require a mid year report. Secondly, my strength of curriculum is enough where it makes sense that my grades wouldn’t compare to last year where I had straight A’s; I have 7 demanding classes compared to just 4 last year. My C+ is in BC Calc, the hardest class our school offers and my B- are in English (even our valedictorian does not have above a B) and AP Physics C: E&M which I’m just not doing so well in.

tldr; we’ll be fine. I talked to some friends that went to Cornell and Penn and one submitted his final transcript with one or two D’s and is still attending and the Penn friend submitted with 2 or 3 C’s.

i’m not sure if i’m supposed to reply so much in my own thread… but thanks APAwesome! yeah, i felt really relieved when i found out we didn’t need to submit midyear reports… but i really need to work harder. haha  good luck to you! an me! :D
