Will I Get Rescinded?

In UC Irvine's freshman contract it says that you have, "maintain at least a weighted 3.0 senior-year GPA in UC-approved courses". I'm entering the fourth quarter of my senior year and, while I have no Ds or Fs, it's looking nearly impossible for me to pull out the 3.0 weighted GPA. This is almost entirely because I have had several absences (probably close to three school weeks total) this semester alone due to lots of sickness (stomach flu and food poisoning) and probably just as many absences, if not more, last semester due to illness as well.

Some additional information:
-My GPA is about a 3.1 weighted
-My major is English
-I was offered to complete the supplemental review, in which I provided my less-than-stellar first semester grades and explained them by saying I was ill for much of that semester. So, my thinking is that if they could forgive my first semester grades, which are much worse than what my second semester grades will be, then MAYBE the same could apply to my second semester grades.

So, in your opinion, what are the chances of getting rescinded? Would messaging someone at the university about this help or hurt my chances of keeping my current admitted status?

I think that there’s a good chance that you’ll get rescinded if you don’t get the 3.0 GPA. This same situation happened to me last year, and I was able to talk to my teachers and explain the situation to them. They were pretty understanding, or at least felt bad about the fact that if they didn’t change my grades I would have had to go to community college.
