if on my app i said that i would play varsity tennis my senior year... but due to my week's schedule it's hard to keep that in and so i decide not to play?

Just to be safe, I think you should notify your schools. I doubt they would rescind you based on dropping tennis. (I play varsity tennis too :)

Don't worry. After you are accepted, colleges will make sure that you graduated and check your academic performance when they receive your final transcript. People can have admissions rescinded if they fall off significantly. It is very hard to predict when colleges will do this, but they won't care about your EC's.

so does that mean a person that says he's going to attend 5 different clubs, play a varsity sport, and participate in community service his senior year doesn't have to? (this is not me)

The only thing that colleges look at after your senior year is the final transcript, and you sign something saying that you haven't been arrested or anything like that.

Colleges only rescind if ur academics drop a whole bunch, you get suspended // expelled (hence you don't graduate) or you get arrested.

Otherwise, they don't give a rats ass (i work at the admissions office here at D and they barely have time)

yeah dont send them a letter...forget about it; its not like you were being dishonest because you intended to play at the time

"so does that mean a person that says he's going to attend 5 different clubs, play a varsity sport, and participate in community service his senior year doesn't have to?"

technically, yes that is what it means...but if someone lies like that then they will have to live with the fact that they are a scumbag...
